A Story About Trees

Mixed, 8” x 14”

This is a story about trees. Walking trees. And a girl. And the end of it all. You may wonder why they walk, these walking trees, when there is no where to walk to? But when there is nothing left, there is nothing left to do but trek on endlessly through the sand. It is while walking toward nothing that they come upon the girl. She is lovely. Lovely and useless.

Lovely in that she is the last of her kind. Beautiful and precious as the moon might be, if we knew that it might fall from the sky at any moment. Useless in that she is the last of her kind. Lone lover, childless mother, Eve without an Adam.

This drawing was originally done in pencils, then scanned and shifted to Sepia tones using Photoshop.
